1979 Jean Pierre Alarcen “Tableau No 1”LP/*IMPORT Scoppuzzle French Private Press Original/Heavy Prog Rock,Minimal, Ambient, Modern Classical
Cover NM no splits
Vinyl NM beautiful copy. Lightly cleaned with water. Sound is pristine, from my personal collection.
This lp is about 65% ambient very quiet yet beautiful symphonic piece with keyboard and guitar , I think the whole lp is actually one song in 3 sections. The remaining 35% of the lp is a mix of fast paced magma sounding prog with huge complex drums, riffed up guitars with fuzzed solos, back into some sections with the keyboard and guitar together again. This might be good for a dj looking for a rare boost of mythic properties using those huge sections, or if you just sit back and listen as I have, it took me 2 times to get it, most of it is really quiet and minimal on purpose to build tension then it bursts into some of the busiest and hardest prog outta France. Returns back into minimal , it’s all on purpose. Some of it is a little too quiet and too loud so you have to find a balance with your eq and not sure if you would even want to attempt headphones because peak levels… the remastered CD seems to be selling consistently for over $75 so this original press is kinda a deal at this point. Don’t expect all of it to be mind blowing a lot of it is more about feel and a personal piece of this artist, but the “prog” sections are definitely insane and make it worth owning even if you are expecting something harder than a classical electric piece
